Devil in your eyes craig farraway9/5/2023 What we thought of Hell and devil is quite what it truly is. Jess (real name Jezebel, the original one) is a demon, a succubus and daughter of Lillith. The sex is G even though the main character is a succubus! Kimberly Raye is a well established author of several other series and I was excited to win this book in a Goodreads give-awsy. This is a fun romantic romp with in a paranormal vein. I always love to get to read the first book in a new series, especially one in which the author can write. I really enjoyed this light, fun read and am definitely looking forward to more in this world. I'm so happy to have a Kimberly Raye witty and wacky heroine to love and follow again. :) With that said, TDitD is an absolute must read for Lil/DED fans, but if you're new to Kimberly Raye's awesome work, this is a good place to start as well. It's obvious that she has the penchant for getting herself in over her head just as easily as well. Jess is almost as funny as Lil, and has grounds to be just as spunky as the series continues. If you're a Dead End Dating fan, you will really enjoy this book. Our heroine, Jess, is cute, fun, sassy, and a bit of a mess (in a empty calorie obsessed, hopeless romantic sort of way), who's also a succubus, wedding planner extraordinaire, and the devil's daughter.Ĭutter is an awesome hero, and while he doesn't play a huge role, the tension between them is super fun. The Devil's in the Details gives us love, laughs, mystery, mayhem, snark, and some super fun characters. *ARC provided by the Author in exchange for an honest review Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle: I think this was a fun book and a decent start to a series, I just wasn’t blown away. The story flowed nicely and the characters are pretty unforgettable. I want to read the next book in the series as this book did its job in capturing my attention and keeping it. Some of it was funny, but most of the time I felt like it was overkill. I like the premise, even if it was familiar, and I loved the characters. All the while Jess has issues in her private life that include a demon hunter she’s wildly attracted to (since she’s a demon that’s not good) and a mysterious someone who is out to get her. In this book, her mother is getting married and wants Jess to plan the wedding. But Jess is a secret romantic and who is hoping for her own Happily Ever After while making sure Houston Brides get theirs. Jess runs a highly successful wedding planning business which the family believes it is so she can have her way with the grooms, the groomsmen and any other male in the wedding parties. Jess is a succubus and just happens to be the daughter of the devil, a woman. Give me a bag of Sugar Babies, a Toby Keith or Kevin Fowler CD (I love Texas music), and a great book, and I'm in heaven! Some of my favorite authors include Janet Evanovich, Vicki Lewis Thompson, Charlaine Harris (see my Favorite Reads page for more) and the exceptionally talented Nina Bangs. But when I find a few precious moments, I LOVE to read. Like any over-worked, under-appreciated wife and mother, I have very little free time. Born and bred in the Lone Start State, I still live deep in the heart with my real-life hero, Curt, and our young children. I've written for several different publishers, including Harlequin Books, Leisure Books, Berkley/Jove, St. I have also been nominated by Romantic Times magazine for several Reviewer's Choice awards, as well as a career achievement award. To date, I've published over thirty novels, one of them a prestigious RITA Award nominee, Romance Writers of America's highest award of excellence. I started my first novel back in high school and have been writing ever since. But what I really love is writing romance-the hotter the better! From sexy to thrilling, sweet to humorous, I like them all. While I enjoy reading all types of fiction, my favorites, the books that touch my soul, are romance novels.
